You've Been Shampooing Wrong: How To Promote Healthy Hair

hair growth

Shampoo is what allows for clean hair that is free of impurities and dirt. However, there are many people who do not use the right product and technique when using their shampoo. If you want your hair to grow and prosper, it is important to select a moisturizing shampoo if you have unruly, very curly hair. Moisturizing shampoos will have restorative elements that will lay the cuticles of your hair, allowing you to enjoy springy, smooth curls. If you have straight hair, then you can enjoy most normal shampoos or clarifying shampoos if you suffer from overactive sebum production. Once you select your shampoo, it is important that you use it correctly.

A Dime Size Is Usually Enough

TV commercials have conditioned us to think that a lot of suds is good for the hair. However, too much suds can strip hair color or even cause dryness. If you have overly dirty hair, then a second shampoo is recommended.

Shampoo For The Roots, Conditioner for The Hair.

It is recommended that you use shampoo to cleanse the skull and the hair near the roots. This is where sebum, oil, and dirt tends to accumulate. As you wash your hair, the shampoo will run down the length of the hair, gently cleansing it.

Use the Ball of Your Fingertips.

Fingernails will tear at your scalp, potentially causing lacerations and discomfort. Use the tip of your fingers to massage your scalp and hair, loosening any contaminants. Once you have shampooed your hair, it is recommended that you remove any remnants of the shampoo with warm water. After condition your hair, wash the hair with cool water to remove the conditioner and to close the hair's cuticle.
